1.       Simple past  tense

·         The action or situation  happen in past and already done when you talk about it.

·         S + to be  {was, were} + adj ,n ,adv

·         S+ v2+….

·         For  example :

·         She was sick yesterday

·         I went to hospital yesterday

2.       Simple past continuous

Ø  The action or situation  had already started before the time but not finished yet. In the middle of doing something.

Ø  S + to be {was, were } + v ing
